SUBJECT: 9/11 Memorial Service
I had planned on writing an extensive piece to go with this week’s PIX OF THE WEEK – but there is probably nothing I can say that these photos can’t say for me. However, I should add that being down here in NYC covering the 9/11 Memorial Service and meeting many of the families of those who lost loved ones, helped to put a real face to those lost in this great tragedy for me. And hopefully my photos and the many stories that you have seen these past few weeks will do the same for you. I will post additional shots to my Facebook page later today if you are interested in seeing them: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=654596257

On a side note, the 9/11 Memorial opens to the pubic on September 12th. The Memorial and Museum occupies half of the 16-acre WTC site. The names of all 2,983 victims of the attacks on September 11th are inscribed into bronze panels that surround the two enormous reflecting pools. Also included are the names of those lost at the Pentagon, Flight 93 as well as the names of those lost in the WTC bombing on February 26, 1993.
