SUBJECT: Lowell Thompson Band
LOCATION: EMP Studios (Colchester, Vermont) CAMERA: Canon Mark 1D IIN LENS: Canon 24-105mm F4 IS L series DATE: October 2007
The other week, I had the pleasure of sitting in on the recording of the Lowell Thompson Band's new CD at EMP Studios. Lowell had asked me to grab a few shots while they were recording in the studio (hopefully a few will be used in the liner notes of the new album). They sounded great and I am excited about hearing the CD which I am told will be released this spring. In the meantime, check Lowell and the rest of the band out at this Saturday at THE MONKEY HOUSE in Winooski.
Bill Mullins- (guitar, vocals) Kirk Flanagan- (bass) Steve Hadeka- (drums) Lowell Thompson- (guitar, vocals)
Rob from EMP Studios is engineering the recording

Lighting provided by either 1 or 2 Dynalite heads fired thru a softbox triggered remotely with a PocketWizard Plus II.
NOTE the bottle of Jameson in the background of photos # 2 and #4. No good rock album would be complete without such!!!

| PIX OF THE WEEK - Alma |

SUBJECT: Alma
LOCATION: Fort Ethan Allen Studio (Colchester, VT) CAMERA: Canon Mark 1D IIN LENS: Canon 70-200 F2.8 series IS lens DATE: July 2008
Once again, I found myself struggling and struggling with picking just ONE pix for this week's PIX OF THE WEEK series. I got so many amazing shots of Alma it was really tough. She's got amazing skin, beautiful eyes and one of the most engaging looks a photographer could ever hope for. I finally just told myself no matter which one you pick, it will be very nice.
Lighting couldn't have been much more simpler - a Dynalite 4040 head mounted in a soft box to the camera right triggered remotely by a PocketWizard Plus II.
Exposure was 1/160th of a second at F16 at 100 ISO (focal length was set at 140mm)
